Community Service
Community service is a vital part of the Summit View curriculum. Students are encouraged to learn about themselves by participating in activities that contribute to the well-being of the diverse communities in and around Los Angeles. Examples of community service activities include partnering with Heal the Bay, Habitat for Humanity, Tree People, and other similar groups to work on projects that promote the mission of the charitable organization.
Summit View offers at least one grade level community service project per year. In addition, each student independently completes a division level requirement based on their grade level. Community service hour requirements vary by grade level. Hours may be completed beginning the summer prior to the new school year and must be completed by June of the school year.
